<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an operating feeling by improving the arrangement of brake linings. SOLUTION: In this brake drum 1 for a vehicle, the respective one end sides of both brake shoes 6, 7 opposed to each other are engaged with an anchor pin 8 provided on the fixed side, while an elliptic cam 9 is interposed between the respective other end sides, and the cam 9 is rotatory-operably supported on the fixed side. With the rotation of the cam 9, the respective other end sides of the brake shoes 6, 7 are engaged with the cam 9 to open both brake shoes 6, 7, and brake linings 10, 11 provided at the outer peripheral surfaces of the brake shoes 6, 7 are frictionally engaged with the inner surface of a brake drum. The positions of cam side edges 10a, 11a of both brake linings 10, 11 are set closer to the anchor pin 8 than to the positions of anchor pin side edges 6d, 7d of sliding faces 6c, 7c, along which the cam 9 slides, of the respective brake shoes 6, 7.</p> |
