PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens holding tool capable of working both the ends of a lengthy lens with no re-holding operation by fixing the lens onto the holding tool only for one time, and of working the lengthy lens high in quality in both its appearance and its surface accuracy. SOLUTION: This holding tool is provided with a lens holding member 4 holding the outer circumferential part of lengthy lens raw material 1, a waste auxiliary appliance fixture holding member 3 holding a disposal protector 2 outwardly positioned on the side of the worked surface 1a of the lengthy lens raw material 1, and with a protection member 5 protecting the non-worked surface of lengthy lens raw material 1 held by the lens holding member 4, and the lens holding member 4, the disposable protector fixture holding member 3 and the protection member 5, are disposed over to an identical axis 'O'.
