PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a camera which is equipped with an image pickup element and a display monitor to confirm an image similar to a film-photographed image right after the photography, performs phase difference detection in a wide area by using the image pickup element for AF control, and can be put in focus fast accurately without increasing the size of the image pickup element. SOLUTION: The camera is equipped with a finder for a monitor display of an image photographed on a film 5 by branching part of luminous flux (image) imaged by a photographic lens system 1 by a pericle mirror 3 which is composed of a half-mirror and hopped up and down and photodetecting it by the image pickup element. A pupil split LCD 9 is arranged in front of the image pickup element, image data are generated by giving a phase difference to the luminous flux image by the photographic lens system 1 to perform phase difference A control, and the image pickup element 4 is equipped with both a monitoring function for the photographed image and a focusing detecting function. |
