Aqueous dispersion of hydro-dispersible polycondensate and acrylic, vinyl and/or styrene polymers, and its use for production of protective-insulating coatings are new. The patent refers to use of aqueous dispersion, based on polymer particles containing 0.1-100 (preferably 0.1-40) wt.% of particles of hydro-dispersible polycondensate, and 0-99.9 (preferably 60-99.9) wt.% of particles of acrylic, vinyl and/or styrene polymers, to produce surface coatings on paper, wood, textiles, metal, glass and other materials. The dispersion is preferably made with pigment, and/or fillers, and/or thickener, and/or other additives (especially active pigments or additives), to form film-like or non-film like coating.
