PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a figure measuring apparatus in which a measurement menu can be selected easily by providing a mouse key on the body of apparatus or a measuring rod and switching a signal generated through rotation of a wheel and the measuring rod to a menu select signal. SOLUTION: A computer 10 is provided in the body of apparatus or the body 2 of a planimeter mounted on a measuring rod. A keyboard 11 for inputting an instruction of scale reduction rate, unit, four operations, measuring mode, and the like, to the computer 10 is mounted on the plane thereof and the results are presented at a display section 6. The computer 10 and a mouse key 21 for switching measurement signals b1, b2 to a menu select signal are provided on the body of apparatus or the measuring rod. Start switch D of the computer 10 is then thrown in and initial setting is carried out and a menu is set before starting ordinary measurement. Measurement signals b1, b2 generated through rotation of a wheel and the measuring rod are switched to a menu select signal, a measurement menu is selected by rotating the wheel of the body of apparatus or the measuring rod and then measurement is carried out for a selected menu.
