The system memorizes access requests whilst these are authenticated prior to access being provided. The web traffic monitoring system generates and verifies log files and/or statistics relating to the access provided by an application server (11) such as a Web server. It includes a dedicated device (12) which receives a description (Dreq) of each request for access from clients, and provides as a response a bit, B which may be either 0 or 1. A control server (14) receives the requests from the clients (Browser 13) and memorizes the description of the requests. A processing and communication device integrated within the web server operates such that a value B=1 enables the provision of a connection between the client and a control server, but the value B=0 does not allow access.
