PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain cost-down while structurally simplifying a multiple dealing type automatic ticket examination machine having a function for holding plural train tickets as a holding and inverting mechanism for train tickets. SOLUTION: An automatic ticket examination machine 10 has a holding mechanism 20 respectively shown triangular for respectively temporarily holding train tickets on respective side parts between reading heads RHa and RHb provided in the middle of a carrier path for carrying train tickets and a writing head WH. Further, this machine is provided with a holding and inverting mechanism 30 for inverting the train ticket put into an intersection portion between a first side carrier path 21a and a second side carrier path 21b. This holding and inverting mechanism 30 is composed of a holder 31 provided with a pinch roller 40 for holding the train ticket and a solenoid SL1 to be operated for pressing the holder 31 with a supporting shaft 32 attached to the holder 31 for ejecting the held train ticket as a center.
