PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously variable transmission device which can secure a wide transmission range by switching power transmitting passages. SOLUTION: This transmission device has an input shaft 13 to which driving force of a drive engine is input, an output shaft 16 for outputting shifted power, a first pulley 5, a second pulley 6, and a belt 7 laid over the first pulley 5 and the second pulley 6. A CTV 1 can continuously and variably set a transmission ratio by varying effective diameters of the first and second pulleys 5, 6. Changeover means 3a, 3b composed of a plurality of engagement means C1 to C4 are operated for selectively setting first and second power transmitting passages. Power of the input shaft 13 is transmitted to the first pulley 5, and power of the second pulley 6 is transmitted to the output shaft 16, respectively through the first power transmitting passage. Poser of the input shaft 13 is transmitted to the second pulley 9, and power of the first pulley 5 is transmitted to the output shaft 16, respectively through the second transmitting passage.
