PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide a discharge tube capable of displaying white color with a desired high color temperature without requiring a color filter and correction by a driving circuit, by making different areas, of openings in phosphors in a view of a first substrate side for respective phosphors of red, green, and blue. SOLUTION: In a four-electrode structure independently having a pair of address electrodes comprising a first address electrode 6 formed in a front glass substrate 1 and a second address electrode 7 formed in a rear glass substrate 2, and a pair of electrodes for display comprising respective memory electrodes, the pair of electrodes for display can use in common memory electrodes constituting the pair of electrodes in adjacent discharge spaces. A lattice-like barrier rib 3 is formed on the rear glass substrate 2 to provide a clear image having no cross talk. Preferably, area ratios of an opening in the phosphors in a view of a substrate side are about 93-97/100 for red to blue, and about 96-100/100 for green to blue, and image display with white color temperature of 9000 K-10000 K is provided.
