PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily produce optical parts having a small optical loss, a simple structure and desired temperature characteristics. SOLUTION: An optical part 10 is an optical fiber grating element with a grating 12 formed in the core region 11 of an optical fiber and the clad region 13 comprises silica glass. The optical material of the core region 11 is a ladder type silicone resin and the desired refractive index is provided to the silicone resin by appropriately adjusting the combining ratio between SiO and functional groups and also appropriately adjusting the combining ratio between methyl groups and phenyl groups. The optical part 10 has a desired coefficient of thermal expansion and desired temperature characteristics as a whole.
