PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a data recording/reproducing device and a data recording/ reproducing method which can record data in the recording region of a recording means efficiently and without wastefulness. SOLUTION: A data recording/reproducing device 1 records/reproduces 1st data AD and 2nd data VD in accordance with time slots which are alloted to the 1st and 2nd data with an input/output means for the input/output of data. The device 1 has a plurality of recording means 15 and 17 which record the 1st data AD and 2nd data VD, respectively. The plurality of recording means 15 and 17 have selectively recording means 29 which select the 1st data or the 2nd data and record the selected data.
