PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the easy inspection of geometrical dimensions with good accuracy by inspecting the geometrical dimensions of an image reader from the known geometrical dimensions with respect to a mark and the geometrical dimensions on the read image on the mark. SOLUTION: An image data calculation section calculates the positions of the respective parallel lines of the parallel line patterns Q on the read images corresponding to the parallel lines 28a to 28c a 28d to 28g of a cassette 29. A position information acquisition section reads the image data of the geometrical dimension information 29 on the read images, records the data on the irradiation surface of the cassette 20 and knows the positions of the respective straight lines of the parallel lines on the images formed on a phosphor sheet P and the spacings between the straight lines.
