PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multiplication device which quickly performs saturation processing in the operation. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a first register 11 where a multiplier is stored, a second register 12 where a multiplicand is stored, a third register 13 where an addend is stored, a multiplier 14 which multiplies the output of the first register 11 and that of the second register 12, a computing element 15 which adds or subtracts the output of the multiplier 14 to or from that of the third register 13, a multiplexer 16 which selects the output of the computing element 15 or a fixed value, and a saturation processing discrimination circuit 20 which detects partial bits of the value of the third register 13 and those on the way of operation in the computing element 15 during the operation to discriminate the saturation processing. |
