PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming material especially adapted to a direct printing plate (CTP) and superior in image quality, sensitivity, storage stability, and physical strength. SOLUTION: This image forming material contains as energy ray sensitive base generator, an infrared absorber, a base soluble resin, a base curable resin, a sensitizing dye, a photosensitive silver halide, a nonphotosensitive reducible silver salt, a reducing agent, a binder resin, and an onium salt compound. The infrared absorber has a molar absorption coefficient of >1×105 of an adsorption maximum in a wavelength region of 700-1500 nm. This image forming material has a layer containing the energy sensitive base generator and an ink repellent layer. |
