PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shipping method and system detecting failed fuel quickly at high sensitivity without moving fuel. SOLUTION: A shipper cap 2 is attached to a fuel assembly 1 existing in core water. Apart of or all of the core water existing in the shipper cap 2 is eliminated by injecting gas in the shipper cap, thereby reducing the pressure inside the sipper cap, reducing the pressure of the core water in a channel box in the fuel assembly 1, discharging a fission product inside a damaged fuel rod in the fuel assembly, and detecting the fission product.
