PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To weigh an article picked up by a client automatically while determining the kind of the article by mounting a large number of articles previously on a mounting table and displaying the difference between a stored weight before an article is picked up and the weight after a required quantity of article is picked up. SOLUTION: The weighing apparatus comprises a computer section 24 and a printer section 30. The computer section 24 comprises a CPU 21, an ROM 22 and an RAM 23 provided with a weight value register and a display mode flag memory area. The computer section 24 is connected with a load cell 25 for measuring a picked up weight through an A/D conversion circuit 26 and provided with a unit price set switch 27, an article number set switch 28, a completion key 14 and a switching key 15. A printer section 30 prints a data on a shopping card and a liquid display 11 displays the data. A buzzer 32 sounds if a weight data decreases when a shopping card is not inserted.
