An antifouling coating composition comprising a carrier and an antifouling agent selected from isothiazolones and furanones, wherein the composition is substantially non-toxic to a cultured marine or aquatic animal when applied to the animal. The antifouling composition can be used to reduce or inhibit fouling of marine or aquatic animals and aquaculture apparatus.
