A method of accessing an I/O device or memory from an application program in a computer as if an ordinary address was read/written. It includes the following two steps. (1) An environment establishing step in which consecutive memory spaces are secured, a virtual address is allocated to a specific area of the memory space, and the memory space is used as a conversion table by storing information associated with the virtual address according to a virtual address definition file created by the user, thus establishing an environment where a virtual address can be used. (2) A virtual address using step, in which in the environment, the type of the virtual address is acquired from the conversion table and access to a specific virtual address is made according to the type.
|
