The friction lock is for the open profile connection of a slide arc structure comprising rolled channel profiles (4,5) with clamping bulges (45) and hollow cavities (7). With one or more pressure screws (15), the channel profiles are clamped via a connecting hook (8) engaging over the upper channel profile (4) with reinforcement ribs (10). Also involved in the clamping of the channel profiles is a clamp support with a clamping bulge (6) supporting in the hollow cavity (7) of the lower channel profile (5). On the friction lock are blocking devices which apply it to the channel profiles. An Independent claim is also included for use of the friction lock.
