Power supply controller for motor vehicle, has FET to control power to load depending on over current condition and stops protection circuit when gain rate of load current is less than preset value

A FET (QA) connected between power source (101) and load (102) controls the power applied to the load. A detector detects the excess current flowing through the load, based on which protective circuit turns OFF the FET. A control unit stops the protective circuit, when the rate of gain of current flowing through load is smaller than preset value. An Independent claim is also included for power supply control method.
