The invention relates to a resin composition comprising (A) an unsaturated polyester, (B) a monomer that is copolymerizable with the unsaturated polyester (A), (C) optionally an anti-shrink component, (D) reinforcing fibres and (E) fillers, and is characterized in that the unsaturated polyester (A) has an acid number of less than 18 mg KOH/g and is a combination of a standard unsaturated polyester (A1) having an acid number of more than 13 mg of KOH/g and of a modified unsaturated polyester (A2) having an acid number of less than 13 mg of KOH/g, the acid number being as measured according to ISO 3682.
