DETECTION SYSTEM FOR HUMAN IMMUNODEFICIENCY VIRUS BASED ON NUCLEIC ACID AMPLIFICATION

Sequences allowing the detection and quantification of human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) are described. For the detection of the various subtypes A to H (group M) sequences of a specific pol region are preferred whereby a selective group O sequence has been derived from the LTR region. Both types of sequences are either alone or in combination particularly suitable as probes in TaqMan <3> analysis.
