<p>A balloon catheter used in therapy or operation for the purpose of expanding a lesion region mainly such as constriction part and occlusion part in an endogenous passage. In the conventional expansion catheter, a fixing portion 'tip' of a tubular member for passing an expansion body and a guide wire therethrough is hard, so that there has been a problem in operability due to insufficient following properties on the curvy endogenous passage and insufficient guide wire sliding properties due to a difference in flexibility from the guide wire used in combination. The balloon catheter is a catheter characterized in that it has a structure, in which a tubular member for passing a guide wire therethrough is disposed through an inside of an expansion body, and the expansion body and an outer face of the tubular body are concentrically welded in the vicinity of a distal end of the catheter, and that a Shore hardness of a material constituting an outermost face of the tubular member is lower than that of a material constituting the expansion body, so that it is possible to flexibly adjust a tip portion formed by fixing the expansion body and the tubular member for passing a guide wire therethrough.</p> |
