The fitting (1) to secure a glass plate (2) to a holder (3), at the outside of a building, has a sprung linkage formed by a spring hood (6) forming the inner clamp (5) at the glass plate (2). The spring hood (6) has a lens-type curvature at the outer base surface (7) towards the holder (3). A sprung spacer link (10), under a given spring tension, is between the curved base (7) of the hood and the holder (3) at the building. A number of spacer connections (12,13) are between the glass plate (2) and the holder (3) at the building.
