PURPOSE: An apparatus for extending the speech coverage in the mobile communication system is provided to extend the cell speech coverage by supplying a modified system reference clock to a base station modem ASIC. CONSTITUTION: Time and frequency generation part(200) receives a 10 megahertz clock, a TOD, and 1 PPS signal from a GPS receiver and creates a system clock. A clock generation part(400) generates a system clock corresponding to each speech coverage, differentially delaying the system clock obtained from the time and frequency generation part(200). A digital processing part(500), synchronized with the system clock generated from the clock generation part(400), modulates a transmitting signal and demodulates a received signal. A radio frequency processing part(700) carries out a radio frequency up conversion processing for the forward link transmitting signal processed at the digital processing part(500) and output it through a transmitting antenna(810). The radio frequency processing part(700) carries out an intermediate frequency down conversion processing for the reverse link signal received to receiving antennas(820,830)) and transfers it to the digital processing part(500). |
