PURPOSE: An automatic transmission inhibitor switch is provided to economize in manufacturing cost as well as to decrease terminals and wires of each gear level by using a surface contact resistance body. CONSTITUTION: A driver operates a change lever into a D(drive) range and a control lever integral with the change lever through a cable rotates centering on a hinge portion(7). At the same time, a moving contact(13) connected with the control lever follows the rotation to be contacted within a D contact range of a fixed contact(8). A current signal is fed through a wire(10) from a TCU(transmission control unit) and then back to the TCU by the wire(10) via the fixed/moving contacts(8,13).
