PURPOSE: An organic electroluminescent device is provided to improve cooling structure in order to enhance the luminescent efficiency of an organic electroluminescent element. CONSTITUTION: An organic electroluminescent device comprises a transparent substrate(21), an organic electroluminescent element(22), a shield glass(27) and liquid crystal substance(28). The organic electroluminescent element(22) consists of an anode electrode layer(23), an electroluminescent material layer(24) and a cathode layer(25) sequentially formed on the transparent substrate(21). The shield glass(27) encapsulates the element(22). The liquid crystal substance(28) is filled in the space between the transparent substrate and the shield glass to absorb heat generated from the element(22) during phase shift process.
