PURPOSE: A device for editing audio of a digital VCR(Video Cassette Recorder), is provided to record an audio signal recorded in the digital VCR in a storage medium of a computer, and to edit the recorded audio signal in a stereophony, for display and recording in the digital VCR. CONSTITUTION: An audio processing unit(210) converts parallel audio data outputted from a computer(100) into a prescribed interface format, for stereophonic processing. A CODEC interface unit(230) converts the audio data processed in the prescribed interface format by the audio processing unit(210) appropriately for an audio data format of a CODEC of a digital VCR(Video Cassette Recorder), and converts the audio data format of the CODEC into a prescribed interface format. A decoding unit(240) converts the audio data of the CODEC converted into the prescribed interface format by the CODEC interface unit(230) into parallel audio data capable of being stored in the computer(100), for outputting.
