PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ruler which enables smooth and sure drawing of parallel lines at desired intervals and parallel lines located at desired intervals and intersecting these ones and enables drawing various beautiful figures. SOLUTION: In regard to a ruler constituted by providing a rotating shaft 3 in a ruler main body 1 of which the front end face is formed to be a writing implement contact face 2, a fixing groove part is provided in recession in the writing implement contact face 2 of the main body 1 of this ruler. By fitting the tip of a writing implement in the fixing groove part to be held therein and also by moving the ruler main body 1 forward and backward in parallel, therefore, parallel lines can be drawn smoothly and surely.
