A valid password corresponding to an user identification is supplied, so as to log on in a source system (LE1). The password encryption software version in a target system (LE2) is compared with that in the source system, based on which a password belonging to the user identification in question which is associated with an earlier password encryption software version, is sent to the target system. The password is checked for its correctness in the source and/or target system by comparing the password with that stored in the systems, corresponding to the user identification. An independent claim is also included for system for selecting a password encrypted with correct software version in telephone exchange system. |
