A method of installing a separation filling material for filling a side space between the ground and the building when a vibration-isolating foundation is installed underground, wherein a part of the building is allowed to project outward, and the separation filling material is placed without being fixed on the projecting portion and the ground so that the separation filling material can be displaced without damages to it, whereby the separation filling material, being free from unnatural external restrictions at the times of earthquakes, can prevent damages and other dynamic adverse effects. In addition, the separation filling material, if its shape and strength are properly selected, is available for various applications such as a bridge between the ground and the entrance/exit of the building and therefore is very useful. |
