PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform the chemical reaction of impurities such as cations, anions or the like contained in sewage by simple constitution using a permanent magnet in a sewage treatment system. SOLUTION: The first ion separator 20 of a sewage treatment system is constituted of a cylindrical housing 21, a hollow support 22 and a plurality of permanent magnet elements 23. A plurality of the permanent magnet elements 23 are arranged in the hollow support 22 at a predetermined interval in such a state that the different magnetic pole surfaces of them are parallelly opposed to each other along a sewage flow direction so as not only to form fluid passages S but also to uniformly form magnetic fields in the direction vertical to the flow of sewage over the total range of the fluid passages S. By this constitution, the water molecule group covering impurities such as cations, anions or the like is finely divided by the action of magnetic fields formed in the fluid passages when sewage passes through the fluid passages to separate impurities in an exposed state.
