PLANT FOR ULTRASONIC INSPECTION OF QUALITY OF POINT ELECTRIC WELDING IN PROCESS OF WELDING

nondestructive test of quality of welds. SUBSTANCE: invention can find use in any branch of mechanical engineering where process of point electric welding is employed. Provision for high level of sensitivity and reliability of inspection is achieved thanks to fact that plant for ultrasonic inspection includes two ultrasonic converters mounted on electrodes of welding machine inside which cylindrical spaces with conical bottoms filled with fluid are made, pulse generator connected to first ultrasonic converter, processing unit incorporating amplifier connected to second ultrasonic converter. Processing unit includes integrator. Output of amplifier is connected to computer via integrator. Ultrasonic converters are placed on rear side of welding electrodes, their cylindrical spaces are perpendicular to axial line of electrodes and have conduits to feed fluid whose boiling temperature is about 300 C. Opening of conical bottom of spaces, distance from vertex of conical bottom to contact surface of electrodes and diameter of spaces are chosen from condition of crossing of refracted lateral ultrasonic vibrations on boundary of welded sheets and are found by certain relationships.
