According to the inventive method for producing a polyurethane matrix with covalently immobilised biomolecules, the polyurethane matrix is presented in a solvent mixture containing an at least 80 % non polar solvent in which the polyurethane matrix does not swell or swells only slightly and in which the activating reagent is contained, so that the subsequent immobilisation of the biomolecule preferably takes place on the surface of the polyurethane matrix or on layers near to the surface.
