It is known that 230 volt ac can be obtained from 12 volt dc by means of a generator and a regulator box. The disadvantage is that only little energy is provided or that the 12 volt dc have to be produced once again and separately. The aim of the invention is to produce a generator for different types and values of voltage. The inventive method for producing a voltage, especially for a motor boat, comprises a generator and a control unit which are connected with each other by means of control cables and energy lines. Said method is characterised in that the generator feeds a type of voltage to the control unit and in that the control unit provides at least one dc and one ac.
