PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitter for preventing forgetfulness of lights-out by controlling ON/OFF operation of a light emitting part without providing an operation switch on an outside surface and eliminating consumption of a battery due to malfunction and a simple optical cable electric continuity checker for inspecting the existence of disconnection of an optical cable. SOLUTION: This light emitter has a light emitting element 2 having a light emitting part 20, a small battery 4, a battery socket 7 for connecting a first electrode 5 of the battery 4 and forming a contact point lever 8 composed of an elastic member, a contact point link 10 forming a contact point part 11 for contacting with the contact point lever 8 and being connected to a first terminal 17 of the light emitting element 2 on one end and a cap 22 formed so as to cover the light emitting part 20 and formed so as to release the connection of the contact point lever 8 and the contact point part 11 by pressing the contact point lever 8 when covering the light emitting part 20. In the light emitting element 2, this electric continuity checker is constituted by having a red high intensity light emitting part 3a.
