PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device propping against ceiling which is satisfactory in appearance and excellent in operability. SOLUTION: This device propping against ceiling is formed of an end rail member 21 vertically movably housed in a housing part 20 in the state of a square frame formed on the side of the upper surface of the top plate 6 of furniture 1, and an adjusting member 22 arranged on the part 20 for vertically moving the member 21. In this propping device 4, the member 21 propping against a ceiling surface by operating the member 22 from the upper surface side of the top plate 6 of the furniture 1.
