PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam iron which can improve the usability by preventing water leaks from a water inlet made on the tank even in the case where the water in the tank is vibrated by ironing actions. SOLUTION: In this steam iron, a partition 21 is made near a water inlet 17 of the tank 14, and a wave absorber 22 interlocking with opening and shutting movements of a water-inlet cover 20 is fitted on the water-inlet cover 20. When the water inlet 17 is shut with the water-inlet cover 20, the wave absorber 22 is positioned near the downside of the water inlet 17, and the gap between the peripheral part of the wave absorber 22 and the partition 21 is reduced.
