PARKING BRAKE DEVICE FOR INDUSTRIAL VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need of a parking lever for operating a parking brake and the need for continuously stepping on the brake at a temporary stop on a hill. SOLUTION: This parking brake device is equipped with a parking brake 12 on an output shaft 3b of a transmission gear 3 having a torque converter 2. The parking brake 12 has a disk 12a rotating together with the output shaft 3b and a brake pad 12b which is mounted such that it cannot rotate together with the output shaft 3b but can move in the direction of thrust. The parking brake 12 becomes under a braking condition when the brake pad 12b is pressed against the disk 12a through spring force, while it is released by hydraulic pressure supplied to a pressure receiving chamber 12c through a valve 13 for braking. CPU 32 controls the valve 13 for braking so as to let the parking brake 12 under a braking condition when the vehicle speed is not more than vehicle stopping speed and a status where an operation detecting signal of a brake pedal 25 is input from a brake switch 28 lasts for a prescribed time period.
