HETEROAROMATIC BICYCLIC DERIVATIVE USEFUL AS ANTICANCER AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound useful for treating the propagation of abnormal cells such as cancer in mammals. SOLUTION: This new compound is expressed by formula I wherein X is N or CH; A is a (heteroatom-containing) condensed 5-7 membered ring; R1 and R2 are each H or a 1-6C alkyl; R3 is (CR1R2)m-R8 [wherein (m) is 0 or 1; R8 is a (CR1R2)t(a 6-10C aryl) of the like; (t) is 0-5]; R4 is a (CR1R2)t(a 6-10C aryl) or the like} and is e.g. 6-[4-(6-amino-3-aza-bicyclo[3.1.0]hex-3-ylmethyl)- phenyl]-quinazolin-4-yl}-(4-phenoxy-phenyl)-amine. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II with a compound of the formula HNR1R3 to obtain an intermediate product, by treating the intermediate product with a compound of the formula X1-(CR1R2)t(a 6-10C aryl) [wherein X1 is B(OH)2 or the like] as a coupling moiety and by introducing a group expressed e.g. by the formula (CR1R2)qNR1R9 into the aldehyde or acid part of the reaction product.
