<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance electron emitting efficiency within a range showing no ill effect on variation with laspe of time by driving. SOLUTION: In this electron emitting element, the amount of P included in a deposit 10 mainly containing a carbon is controlled by using a method of introducing a row gas further containing P in the atmosphere including an organic substance when activated and controlling the amount of the row gas or method of controlling the amount of a solution coated by coating the solution containing P in a form of an organometallic compound, etc., after forming the deposit and then thermally treating it to contain P. Thereby, the ratio of P to carbon is 5 mol% to 15 mol% inclusive.</p> |
