PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the depth of a shelf by supporting a platelike housing shelf rotatably around a horizontal axis and vertically holding the shelf after articles are housed on the horizontal housing shelf. SOLUTION: A shelf board A is rotatable supported between a pair of right and left vertical frame members for instance through a rotatable hinge B and a magnet E is attached to the upper end of the shelf A and a metallic bracket G for the magnet is fitted to the vertical frame member to attract the magnet E and hold the shelf when the shelf is vertically positioned. A horizontal latch C is protruded to the back face side of the vertical frame member and a horizontal locking hardware D is provided at the extremity to horizontally hold the shelf. When the shelf is used, a handle F is pulled down and the shelf is kept horizontal. Then, shoes or the like is housed in the cover H and the shelf board A is vertically erected. In this way, as the shoes shelf is arranged in a wall, a main entrance and a passageway can be used spaciously and it is easy to put shoes in and out and hence, even handicapped persons or children can easily use the shelf.
