PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a long dust being mixed into the body drum of a drying machine for drying dust while stirring from twining round the stirring shaft or stirring blade of a stirrer. SOLUTION: A stirrer 10 for stirring dust 2 supplied into a body drum 4 comprises a turnable stirring shaft 23, and stirring blades 24 provided on the stirring shaft 23 wherein a plurality of fins 29 for generating an air flow in the circumferential direction provided radiately around the stirring shaft 23. Since the fins 29 turn together with the stirring shaft 23 when the dust 2 is stirred by turning the stirring blades 24 together with the stirring shaft 23, an air flow is generated in the circumferential direction around the stirring shaft 23 through rotation of the fins 29 and the dust 2 around the stirring shaft 23 is blown out by that air flow. Consequently, a long dust 2 is prevented from twining round the stirring shaft 23.
