PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder wherein a motor for driving a carriage is controlled corresponding to a residual quantity of ink in an ink tank to make an arrival position of the ink constant. SOLUTION: An ink jet recorder performs recording by scanning a carriage across a recording medium. A plurality of driving data tables having different characteristics are stored in a memory and one of the data table to be used is selected by a data table selecting circuit 101 in accordance with a residual quantity of ink in an ink tank detected by a residual ink quantity detecting circuit 214 and a top address of the table is designated by an address controller 103. A data reading section 104 and a data transferring section 105 are controlled by a sequence controlling section 102 and the address controller 103, then the data corresponding to one time of scanning is sequentially read from the data table to be transmitted to a motor driver 206. |
