PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new type functional gel capable of responding to nucleotides. SOLUTION: This nucleotide-responsible hydrogel is a hydrogel obtained by copolymerizing a boronic acid monomer having vinyl group with a cationic monomer having the vinyl group in the presence of a cross-linking agent. Preferably, the boronic acid monomer is selected from phenylboronic acid, and the cation of the cationic monomer is a tertiary ammonium ion. Further, the cross- linking agent is preferably selected from acrylate-based compounds.
