PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for using a triazine derivative as a cosmetic or dermatological light-shielding composition. SOLUTION: 2,4-Bis- [4-(2-ethylhexyloxy)-2-hydroxy]phenyl}-6-(4- methoxyphenyl)-1,3,5-triazine can be solubilized in a cosmetic or dermatological light-shielding composition by the use of 2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylic acid ethylhexyl ester (octocrylene).
