PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user convenience, to reduce cost and to improve driving safety by selecting the type of the most appropriate service on the basis of present position information of a vehicle and switching a system to a necessary radio protocol. SOLUTION: A multimode radio part 101 transmits/receives vehicle information and communication system(VICS) data 004 or electronic toll collection(ETC) data 005 with a VICS processor or an ETC system processor in accordance with a switched mode. A mode switch control part 102 reads the most appropriate service type which is to be received at present from a data base 104 on the basis of the present position information 002 of a position detection part 103 and transmits a switch control signal 001 for switching a system to a radio protocol required for receiving the service to the multimode radio part 101. Since a plurality of radio machines are not required, cost can be reduced. Since the mode of radio is automatically switched in accordance with the travel position of the vehicle, driving safety improves.
