PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk player in which pictures whose reproductions are restricted can be easily confirmed. SOLUTION: When the demonstrational reproductions of parental levels are instructed by a user, a system controller 60 outputs an instruction, to a servo control part 18, to read out PGCs(program chains) corresponding to all parental levels from a DVD(digital versatile disk) 10 and also outputs an instruction, to a digital signal processing part 24, to extract video packs or the like from VOBUs(video object units) contained in cells which are included in each of these PGCs and to output them to a stream separating part 30 and controls them so that these video packs or the like are to be decoded. Moreover, the controller 60 outputs a picture generating instruction to a video processor 44 so that pictures corresponding to all parental levels are to be reproduced on the same screen at the same reproduction timings while providing display areas of the pictures corresponding to the all parental levels.
