PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time for design/editing and to improve work efficiency by facilitating the real dimension display of raster data and permitting design on the raster data. SOLUTION: A scale is applied to the real dimension of the real picture dimension of drawing data composed of raster data. At least two points are designated on the display area of raster data composed of the aggregate of dot data (102 and 103), the real drawing dimension distance between these two designated points is measured (104) and a real dimension between two points is found on the basis of that measured real drawing dimension distance between two points and the previously applied scale. Then, this real dimension is displayed as a distance between two designated points (105).
