A fixing agent (7) is inserted on casting to allow the retention of a built-up component against the cylinder head, the fixing agent carried by a core support (6) defining at least partially an outer face of the cylinder head. A cylinder head is produced for an internal combustion engine by casting, in which a metal alloy is cast into a mould enclosing some non-fusible cores corresponding respectively to the hollow parts e.g. oil chamber, water chamber, inlet and outlet channels and combustion chamber. Independent claims are also included for: the molding device; and the core support (6) used in the casting a cylinder head.
